Just as in any professional, there are good and bad counselors out there. You want to make sure that the counselor you are considering seeing is properly licensed. You can also check with the state licensing board to ensure that there have been no complaints or disciplinary actions taken against the counselor. Research suggests that the counselor/client relationship is one of the most important factors in determining the effectiveness of treatment so it is important to trust your instincts when determining whether a counselor is the right fit for you. I offer free initial phone consultation to ensure that all of your questions get answered up front and am happy to offer referrals to trusted colleagues in the event that you feel like the fit is just not right.

I am an in-network provider for several managed care organizations. Insurance information must be provided prior to the first session to verify coverage and benefits. In the event that coverage is denied, you will be responsible for the full amount. Most managed care organizations do not provide coverage for couples counseling and I do not provide couples counseling under the guise of individual therapy.

Making a meaningful, transformative investment in yourself or a significant relationship requires both time and money. My rates are competitive with industry standards and for my education level and licensure. Your investment will be mutually agreed upon before your first appointment and is payable at the time of services rendered. I am pleased to offer the online convenience of Paypal for my clients. In order to make counseling accessible for all, I set aside a percentage of my appointments for reduced rate clients. If you are without insurance and are worried about affording counseling, please let me know.

I believe that everyone should have access to quality mental health services regardless of income. For that reason, I set aside 5% of my appointments for reduced rate clients on a case by case basis. If you are concerned about your ability to pay for counseling, just ask. If I can’t help I will refer you to someone who can.

I offer several types of service delivery options depending on the specifics of your circumstances. While the majority of my appointments are conducted face to face in my office, I also offer the option of meeting in your home or having the session online through Skype. House calls are subject to restrictions and are only considered on a case by case basis.

Counseling via electronic means has been around for decades. With its origins in tele-counseling, counseling over the internet has evolved to meet the needs of consumers in a variety of ways. E-counseling provides convenience and access unparalleled in traditional face-to-face counseling. Whether you are isolated in a rural location with limited access to qualified professionals, have a demanding work schedule that makes time away difficult, or if the thought of physically walking into a counselor’s office is too intimidating, e-counseling may be a viable alternative. I offer the option of conducting counseling sessions over Skype; a free program which allows video conferencing capabilities over the internet. It’s easy and effective; just ask for more details.

I encourage clients to commit to attending counseling sessions once per week initially in order to build momentum towards identified goals. Each session will typically last 50 minutes. Frequency and duration of counseling sessions will be assessed regularly to ensure that your time and money are being put to effective use.

My schedule frequently changes to keep up with the demands of the clients I serve. Appointments range from early morning to evening and everything in between. I do not currently offer weekend hours.
