Adolescents
“At long last, we’ve found a therapist with the right combination of no nonsense feedback, hipness, and professionalism to help my adolescent daughter.
She’s doing better in school, has a part time job, and most importantly is more comfortable in her own skin. I’ve got my daughter back and couldn’t be more grateful.”

Raising kids is hard, especially between the ages of 13 and 17. They make poor choices with potentially huge consequences, experience seemingly insurmountable pressure from peers and media, and go through developmental changes faster than they can sometimes handle. If it feels like all of your energy is being sucked into one family member, you are probably raising a teenager.
Counseling can help families and teens open up. From 1996 to 2006 I worked exclusively with teens between the ages of 13 and 19. I know what it takes to build rapport and gain their trust. Working with teens can be challenging work but I believe it can be among the most rewarding as they learn to cope with the every day pressures of life and function in their families in a healthy manner. While I have expanded my practice to clients of all ages, I continue to place a great deal of value on my work with teens.
If you have a teen who is acting out, experiencing symptoms of depression, or who seems to be having a difficult time coping with the rigors of young adulthood, contact me.
